Working as a consultant at client sites, this position requires the ability to handle various Microsoft Windows, Linux and networking requests by working closely with users, other team members as well as software and hardware vendors. This position will also work remotely to support customers using VPN technologies, responding to tickets and events that occur during standard IT operations. The position will be responsible for managing backups, adding /disabling users, building desktops and laptops, monitoring server and network utilization for numerous clients. This position will work virtually with a team of Senior IT consultants to propose solutions, provide excellent customer service and solutions for our customers.
Experience:
3-5 years of hands on experience supporting Windows XP/Vista, Windows Server 2000/2003 and RedHat Linux operating systems.
previous experience working directly with users
experience with system imaging technologies, desktop and laptop support as well as Microsoft Office products.
knowledge of Linux, installing and supporting Linux desktops, Unix file permissions and basic TCP/IP concepts.
experience adding/deleting users in both a windows (A/D) and Linux (NIS/LDAP) environment.
knowledge of DNS, DHCP, WWW, WiFi and TCP/IP.
experience with Smart phones, PDA’s and support of cell phones a plus.
BS in EE, CS or MIS is desirable but not required.
